Land Use Planning and Demand Management

Integrated land use and transport planning can be a powerful instrument to reduce trip lengths and the need to travel. It is part of the approach of transport demand management (TDM), which aims at making most efficient use of existing resources by applying a wide range of measures.

With the following map the SUTP-Team wants to give an overview on local urban master plans and land use development plans worldwide which are powerful instruments to show how future cities could look like:

Please note that this overview is not complete. If you know about a urban master plan or land use development plans that is not listed or about changes to the listed plans, we would appreciate if you could inform us by writing to transport@giz.de.
