Cycling in Monrovia: Transport and more
Huge efforts have been made by the Liberians with support from the international community to rebuild Monrovia after fourteen years of civil war. Although cycling can significantly increase the mobility for many of Monrovia’s inhabitants, only few bicycles can be seen on its streets. The SUTP Case Study of Cycling in Monrovia introduces the major obstacles for cycling in the Liberian capital and outlines five major intervention areas for making cycling on Monrovia’s streets safer and more attractive.
