We updated our Poster on Road Safety – in English and Spanish
The global status report on road safety 2018 published by the WHO revealed that the annual number of road traffic deaths in 2018 rose to 1.35 million – that is 3,700 people dying every day. By now, road accidents are the leading cause of death for children and young adults aged 5–29 years and have surpassed HIV, Malaria and tuberculosis as global health threats.
Action is needed urgently! To reduce injuries and fatalities, many proven measures are available. We updated our infographic, which illustrates the comprehensive approach that Germany has taken as a response to sharply rising fatality rates since the 1950s - comprising a bundle of measures that can inspire policymakers and experts elsewhere.
