At the 22nd of May, the upcoming Transformative Urban Mobility Initiative’s (TUMI) WomenMobilizeWomen conference will be held in Leipzig/Germany at the side of the International Transport Forum (ITF).
We will welcome High-level transport policy experts such as Ms. Laura Ballesteros who worked as the Undersecretary of Planning in Mexico City to make mobility more universal and entrepreneurs like Ms. Kalpana Viswanath who co-founded SafetiPin and improved the safety of millions of women in India and other developing countries.
Practitioners like Ms. Esenam Nyador, better known as Miss Taxi Ghana, will report about her work as a female taxi driver in the male dominated taxi sector in Ghana. We are also very happy to have Ms. Amanda Ngabirano with us, who is a passionate advocate of the bicycle as a mode of transport, especially in Uganda’s capital Kampala.
The Conference will be the kick-off of a debate on the role and potential of women in sustainable urban mobility. Join us to discuss strategies to empower women in the transport sector and change mobility systems to cater to women's needs.
