Discovering and working on new mobility innovations from Israel and Germany at the Future Mobility Camp in Berlin
On December the 7th, 2017, Levent Toprak, who has been supporting our team with his innovation background and smart mobility experiences since November 1st, was visiting the Berlin start-up scene.
The Future Mobility Camp (FMC) took place in the betahaus for the fourth time already. The FMC brings together founders, investors and executives to discuss new mobility solutions and develop new business relationships. The FMC was jointly organized with the Israeli Embassy. Once again, selected Israeli start-ups met German start-ups and pitched their products. The opening was held by Israeli Ambassador Jeremy Issarcharoff and Head of the Digital Society Department at the BMVI, Dr. Tobias Miethaner.
During the pitches, it was striking that many start-ups from Israel presented products from the cyber security and sensor technology sector for automobiles and envisage cooperation with (German) automobile manufacturers and their suppliers. In contrary, German start-ups mainly presented mobility services. The technology of autonomous driving is developing rapidly with the drive coming from the large manufactures of private vehicles. Meanwhile, autonomous vehicles for public transport and as last mile concepts such as shuttle buses are still in an earlier stage but being piloted as well.
The program and the start-ups that pitched in the afternoon can be found here.
